![]() I got a great massage on vacation.Yesterday, just two weeks later, I got another. Before that, I got a massage at the end of May. I am feeling GREAT! |
That isn’t a coincidence.
For the past two years, I have been on my own journey recovering from chronic pain. Along the way, I’ve learned firsthand that healing rarely comes from one thing alone. For me, getting my hormones regulated created the foundation I needed. As the crippling inflammation subsided, my body became much more receptive to massage therapy.
Before, I often arrived on the table desperate for the massage to fix me. When you’re living with constant pain, it’s difficult to fully relax because you’re hoping for relief. Now, I come to each session from a very different place. I can surrender to the experience, be present in my body, and truly welcome the healing that massage has to offer-not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
With massage, as with most holistic modalities, consistency is key. Every massage builds on the last, helping to calm the nervous system, improve mobility, reduce tension, and keep small aches from becoming bigger problems. The longer we wait between treatments can diminish the forward momentum generated in each session.
For me, regular massage now does more than relieve tension. It inspires me to continue making choices that support my health. I leave feeling more connected to my body, more motivated to move, stretch, rest, and care for myself in ways that create lasting change.
As a massage therapist, this has reinforced something I’ve always believed-massage isn’t just about addressing pain. It’s about supporting your body’s ability to heal, adapt, and thrive. And while there are times when other pieces of the puzzle-hormones, sleep, stress, nutrition, or movement-need attention too, consistent massage can be a powerful part of that foundation.
Think of massage like exercise, stretching, or eating healthy. One session feels wonderful, but regular massage sessions create lasting change.
How are you feeling?
If it’s been a while since your last session, don’t wait until you’re in crisis. The greatest benefits often come when massage becomes part of your wellness routine rather than a last resort. Your body is always listening to how you care for it, and every session is an investment in feeling better tomorrow than you do today.
If you’re ready to make massage part of your long-term wellness plan, I’d love to help you get there.
